Within one of Buckhead’s most historic buildings–Sardis United Methodist Church–writer Thornton Kennedy discussed the fascinating history of the church as well as Chastain Park, Lake Forrest and Wiecua roads, the Lake Moore community, and Pole Town.

Thornton Kennedy is a sixth-generation Atlantan and an Atlanta enthusiast. He is currently the President of PR South, Inc. He has previously served as the editor of the Northside Neighbor and an editor at the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Since 2011, he has served as a columnist for the Northside Neighbor; he often writes about Buckhead history.
