The Rise of Modern Living on Peachtree Road

As part of the Atlanta Preservation Center’s Phoenix Flies Celebration, the Atlanta Regional Commission and Buckhead Heritage partnered to offer a new walking tour: The Rise of Modern Living on Peachtree Road.

After World War II, Atlanta was ambitiously positioning itself to become a city of national prominence.  The new architecture along Peachtree reflected the ambition of the age. This tour includes examples of notable architectural firms contributing to the new Modern look of Peachtree, including Ted Levy and Aeck and Associates.

This event was one of hundreds presented as part of the Phoenix Flies: A Celebration of Atlanta’s Historic Sites.
